Hard to estimate worth, especially when income producing companies trade at below book value or intrinsic value for guru's.
Although I am surprised by the days events, on the other hand I'm not. Reasons as follws;
1. We are dealing with Hanlong....so say no more.
2. There has been considerable talk hanlong will not
complete. That now seems assured.
3. There was talk that the SOE's would take over...which now
seems very likely.
4. Recent talk from China about amalgamating small steel
business into larger business's ie bhp/rio/vale size. In
other words lets get rid of all these small players &
middle men.
5. China needed hanlong out of the way to proceed, although
this really is a new way to get rid of someone without
losing face.
The question now is do china want the resource, yes and we proceed ( maybe not at 45 cents ) no and we have to find a new partner...maybe glencore.
Either way we are away from hanlong now.
