Tony Abbott is not representative of all pollies.

Indeed; I'm not aware of any other pollie who appears in lycra and budgie smugglers - Abbott has made himself the standout; begging the question as to Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? [that's a 5Y analysis].

Having undertaken such a 5Y on Abbott's behaviour; my concerns about his character remain.
