Alan Patridge is spot on. One change at a time and see how that goes. Even porting if it is neccessary to the new operating system but with ALL the current HC features is the way to go and then migrate one new feature in at a time and let that settle and if not acceptable then revert back.
If the current HC platform is capable of many new features then I recommend a slowly slowly migration. This way it can evolve based on what works for each new functionality
