I suspect given the sandstone host rock at OP, that apart from the main gold bearing structures, there will be areas that have sheered and faulted over the millenium that will have subsequently been filled with gold bearing quartz. This of course could be called a stockwork. If these do indeed exist then the story just gets better and better. This is only my theory and i am certainly not a geologist, but i have seen simular structures before in sedimentary formations.
