JPP is certainly an option that could be helpful, however, I believe Eric signalled his intent to take a pipeline south well before JPP cropped up.This would satisfy gas demand all the way down to south of Perth including the NWS LNG plant on the way down. There could also be a spur line down into the Pilbara. In view of this I dont see any downside if JPP does not eventuate.
Incidentally, Shell has not even put forward a plan for FLNG to be approved by the JV or more importantly the Govt, and when they do you can be sure that the Federal govt will look very closely at two things that are not mentioned by analysts and media. They are environmental and safety issues.
There seems to be an arrogance coming from Shell and many supporters of FLNG that suggests because its cheaper , it is the solution. BP had this kind of arrogance on the US Gulf of Mexico, and we know where that ended up.
Finally, you can be sure that Eric is deeply aware of what the options are for BRU and is working on the best solution. Dont forget, Eric has gone on record as saying that he is not concerned either way on JPP.
