Perhaps the next thing we'll see in Golf is an adapated Croquet Mallet.
That was outlawed years ago. It was in the Sam Sneed era I think. He or one of the top pros putted back through his legs with a mallet like stroke. The law was changed to specifically state that at address both feet had to be on one side of the ball. A couple fell foul of this while carelessly "tapping in". Maybe that's not what you meant though.
In case it sounds as if I am a little begrudging when talking about rules, nothing could be further from the truth. I am delighted for Scott.
What benefits would be coming his way as a Masters winner beyond the big cheque? I think he has automatic exemption to the Masters for life, a US Tour card for many years, and of course endorsements. Sponsors should like him, he is young and personable and has served his apprenticeship on the tour so they can be sure he isn't a one hit wonder.
