In case folks are too young to remember, or haven't seen a chart, gold corrected from US$190 in December 1974 to a low of US$110 in August 1976, including a 20% fall in the last 2 months.

That, we were told, was the end of gold's run from US$35, which was where gold was heading back to.

Of course, in January 1980, gold hit nearly US$900 an ounce.
