I agree the timing is unusual and can be interpreted a couple of ways.
Either:
Deepak have jumped ship to possibly align themselves with one of the other parties who remain in the hunt?
BMB have been told to sever all association with Deepak which may or may not increase their chances of success
Deepak have just decided to move on and not want to be involved?
