The board does need to have a good look at their performance, and decisions. The CEOs salary for a non producing and non performing stock in a non performing sector is eye catching to say the least. Excellent Geos now driving taxi cabs in Perth and Toronto. None of these should however be a MD! Get out and find the gold!
See the new CEO of BHP has had a hair cut. If this is good enough at the top end then why shouldn't it happen at the bottom end?
The company seems top heavy, too many directors and executive managers and far too many presentations (business class airfares, 5 star accom?) which communicate poorly, saying the same thing with no result to shareholders. Very ordinary.
Time to wake up, deliver the ounces FOCUS is the word.
Time for a change in leadership? (Could anyone do any worse?)
I think you will (hopefully) see a re-alignement in the Junior sector generally, where the board gets more aligned with shareholders, far lower fixed costs, far more relevant and demonstrated successful experience and far more reward for success rather than payment for their time.
