It's all their in what you've written. Very nice piece. It's a game within a game. If we had anything approaching democracy somebody like George W wouldn't have gotten within a light-year of any kind of authority position. Our political hacks in Australia wouldn't make it into the top 50% of people worthy to run a country. The tax they waste is the blood, sweat and tears of a whole country of poor bastards who struggle against the idiots as you so rightly put it. I have this little saying that we have reached a point were everything is wrong.
About 8 years ago I came home from my company, made a coffee for my wife, sat her down and told her that I had had enough of government red-tape in the land of BS. I told her I wanted to sell everything we owned, properties, shut down the company etc, and move to a small country town, retire, go fishing, play golf, walk on beaches, read good books and generally spend quality time together. You might say I was lucky I could do that, but that luck came from working 14 hour days and going into massive debt for years.
The government and the unions were too much for me in the end. The unions took my tiny company to court in a mock wage claim case, even though the people who worked for me were paid miles above the award. I found them all jobs and closed the company down. After discharging all debt we had enough to live very modestly on, maybe, for the rest of our lives. I was 53 at the time.
It was the bravest and best decision I have ever made. You could go crazy watching what the idiots get away with. You can't beat them. Who could imagine they would steal peoples bank accounts? They will take you down in the streets if you push them too hard. They will push gold to whatever price they need it to be, even if there are lines down the street of people trying to get their hands on the real stuff.
I don't care so much anymore. I no longer piss into the wind, watch which way the wind blows because you can't change a thing. All you can do is be a little bit kinder to your circle of family and friends because the other stuff is out of our hands.
Gold is real and has been for a long time. They don't like it when we tell the emperor that he doesn't have any close on.
As for the fools being nearly finished - I agree, but they will maximize the pain on their way down.
The little town I live in now did its ass in the GFC. They bought the rubbish that nobody in the top end of town has been charged over selling. They are forever trying to put the rates up way beyond the schedule.
