Call me an optimist but given we are arguably in the worst market for coal stocks since the GFC , perhaps worse,I reckon AQC is about as low as it's going to get and now that the RIO JV finally looks to be underway things should really heat up from here on. In fact given it may now be only a couple of months until drilling starts I can't imagine a better leveraged stock in the coal space that will take advantage of RIO,s extensive knowledge of the coal surrounding their Hail Creek MDL and get to keep exposure to 25% of any coal found plus milestone payments. With a market cap of just $8m a move to say 6c would still only give a market cap of around $40m . You can't tell me that a company the size of RIO would be hunting for anything less than 1billion tonnes of coal , so surely any success in the upcoming drilling program could mean significant upside for AQC. Lets say only half of this is on the Hillalong JV tenements then AQC could end up with 125m tonnes of hard coking coal given that is what is produced at RIO,s nearby Hail Creek mine..that would mean 32c per share for 125m tonnes( to get to my $40m number) 32c per tonne is the same in ground value that Rocklands Richfield was taken over for by the Chinese and I reckon this will be far better quality coal if it is anything like what is found on the adjacent RIO ground. Obviously a lot of speculation on my part but I don't know of too many 1 c stocks that are in bed with RIO who are spending all the money, and will share in the spoils if successful . AQC already has over 100m tonnes of PCI/semi soft coking coal on their 100% owned EPC 1827 which although is an underground resource has got to be worth 10-20cper tonne to someone. MacArthur coal paid something like $1.70 per tonne for the same coal seam next door. If they could monetise this asset that might add another couple of cents to my 6c number. ....1.5 c to 8c?? I like the sound of that!! Come on RIO pull your finger out.
