re: shorting shares - loose lips Norgate doesn't offer CFDs for trading - we're a data vendor only not a broker/market maker.
The experience with trading warrants and CFDs is my own!
As far as CFDs go in terms of pricing, they almost match the ASX market depth bid-by-bid so analysis techniques on the underlying market are quite valid for trading CFDs.
By the way, some brokers WILL allow you to short sell stocks without a short sell indication but this is against ASX trading rules. There are penalities for doing this but I haven't yet heard of people ever being penalised apart from non settlement fees levied by the ASX on the broker. I no longer use full service brokers for trading equities so I'm not really up with the latest "tactics" brokers are using these days to generate brokerage!
Cheers,
Richard.
