"No clear motive”, even though by then we knew Tamerlan, the elder brother, named after a famous Muslim warrior, had called himself “very religious” and died with a bomb strapped to his chest."
Not a bad thing imo to not try and bring religion into it.
The reason is this kid was sick and did despicable things - his personal reasons sure are important - but advertising them and letting people potentially getting angry at a religious group in general is a pretty dumb thing to do - especially seeing 99.99% of Muslims are very peaceful people.
If the kid's name was Richard and he was a Christian and had a broadsword on him ---------- would papers incite hatred against all Christians?
Tamerlane was more than a warrior - he was a leader - and did some vicious things - so did most of the Kings of England.
If every kid around here was suspicious because they were named after Kings or Queens -------- we would have a big problem.
The kid was a dickhead - thankfully a dickhead who now cannot breed.
What difference if he was influenced by high speed car movies and drove a truck into a crowd of people - or if he died with a bomb stuck to his chest.
Bringing in the religion he was involved in - and is infiltrated by some bad eggs - as are they all - only really incites riot -------- which leads to wars.
Is that what we want? More violence, more dickheads - fight a war against millions?
I think newspapers, if they are trying to keep the religious side quiet - are probably doing ok ----------- how else would you have them play it up?
