There is a significant amount of interest around the Newcrest mine At Cadia/Ridgeway near Orange ,NSW. Newmont mining is talking to all the significant lease holders and they have recently signed a JV with Alkane. Newmont only target big reserves and the geology of the area would suggest that there is more of what Newcrest have. It is also a very underexplored area with only the surface picked over. Since Ridgeway was discovered (which had no surface indications) people are looking hard at whats underneath the surface. There has been a lack of significant drilling so far but I believe that will change soon. Newmont is very serious about the area.
