Whilst I'm very bullish on the future of buru, I still don't understand one decision they've made. With what is already evidently a very tight rig market, why would buru just cease using the ensign rig which has been used to great success thus far in exploration in the area? It has drilled Ungani wells, and undoubtedly is/would be capable of drilling further prospects on this trend. (My gut feeling is that the major thing holding buru up is the issues in the area with traditional owners). An update on how long these issues may take to resolve would be welcomed. Apart from the issues with the century rig, before it was axed, buru had 2 rigs running in tandem. Why can't buru still do that and use the ensign rig at the same time as the much anticipated new rig to be contracted. An indication on the timing/deadlines on the current tendering process for the new rig may be of interest to.. IMO there could be a bidding war between buru jv and nse jv, both saying in announcements they are in the process of tendering for a new rig, with indications enerdrill may be the company being sought after. Slampoil, you made mention of the possibility of 2 rigs believed to be imported to WA? Any further details on which drilling company they may belong to? Cheers, GLTA
