I don't believe a company can just buy someone else's shares off market. I have had this same problem with another company that had a large shareholder trying to get out with no buyers in sight. They'd need to do an on market buyback which I don't think they're in the position to do. They need to put their dislike for each other aside and just get the deal done by placing the stock to instos or any other major shareholder. No one is winning here and is significantly weakening MNC's hand whilst TKG has a very faint beep on life support.
