Since it's a lazy wet saturday afternoon here I went looking through the federal budget papers online and have come up with total expenditure in 08/09 of $280.5 billion and in 11/12 of $373.6 billion. This means that Federal Labor government spending increased by about 32% over that four year period while West Australian Liberal government expenditure reportedly increased by 54% during the same four year period. Revenues of both governments have not increased by anything like that amount. So the deficits grow but WA's deficit is growing the fastest. Dave R.
