    Ummm No.

Samsung has only made the NBN even more viable. Lets not forget that South Korea actually has Fibre to the Home.

The coalitions NBN will be outdated even before its completed whereas fibre to the home will not be superseded for at least a few decades if not at least another 100 years.

A fibre network will provide people not just with fast download speeds but with remarkable upload speeds. If your a business this will benefit you the most. You will not need to fork out thousands to have fibre to your premises it will already be there. This will allow you to send very large documents, JPEGS, video files via the network hence making postal mail obsolete. Think about it in terms of health care. X-rays, ultrasounds, etc can be uploaded or sent to your GP electronically or even to your email.
We are in the 21st Century not the 20th Century and Fibre To The Home will not be obsolete within our lifetimes. In fact it will be a basic requirement especially if the next generation of computers (Quantum computers) become a reality within the next 10 years.
