    makattack, no need for you to be too concerned about the cost of the NBN, the costs can be reduced dramatically.
    All those against the NBN like yourself, I'm sure will stand by their principles and opt out of getting an NBN FTTH connection point installed to their home.

    If you and the other 20% to 40% of the population against FTTH opt out, this will reduce the cost of the NBN by billions.

    It means only those that want it get it. Simple and more cost effective.
