    struggler,

    government's debt is NEGLIGIBLE.
I'm amazed that we have the internet and people are so ill-informed.

"...these criticisms over public debt have nothing to do with either political party being good or bad economic managers, but rather, is the result of cheap political point scoring, hoping the public doesn’t do its research."

Well if you think I am so ill-informed and the government's debt is NEGLIGIBLE, you will have no objection to paying my share of the liability, after all it is of no benefit to me and you seem to accept it is of benefit to you and it is only a pittance.

Jeeezzzeee, some people have no idea.

A good economic manager would at least have the courtesy of presenting one with a detailed costed plan and the with a valid reason for borrowing the funds, then request consent.

A bad economic manager would take advantage of people's ignorance, borrow $272 billion and blow it with very little to show for it at the end.

$272 billion is hardly cheap political point scoring, and that's not counting the funds that were in the kitty.
