    Glug, no, then the charges will rise significantly as the 60% who do connect have to pay for the infrastructure, rather than the costs being spread over the 95% who were expected to take it up.

    struggler, the govt. hasn't a clue about ROIs or any other measure of "profit", which is why the can do this. The nbn was never properly costed - how could they possibly have an ROI? What happened in South Brisbane proves that point entirely. The monthly charges are what they have to be, to cover the real costs, not pie-in-the-sky costs, of a fibre network.

    The nbn will never, ever, make an ROI.
