jantimot, if you believe the ongoing claims that the NBN is not needed and that a large number of people will go wireless anyway. Then it is quite reasonable to assume that 20% to 40% of the population will not connect to the NBN anyway.
So the operating costs etc. will still be spread over a smaller customer base.
Which fits perfectly into a user pays system scenario.
If some people are adamant that they don't require the NBN, then it makes perfect sense that they should opt out of getting an NBN FTTH connection point installed to their home.
