Brazil auction, KAR misses out, BHP enters brazil
Bad:
The cash position probably held KAR back from being aggressive. Would have been good to get some piece of the action (believed to hold 35bln barrels).
Good:
Paying too much at an auction is generally a bad idea. I am sure the board had eyes on some blocks which must have been bid out of their valuation.
Those auction-losing bidders will now look at KAR assets.
