Any policy, clobbered together and rushed, a panicked thought bubble from Macklin and Gillard, (old Socialist Forum mates from way back)at five to midnight on a clock which went for almost six years (where was there early sincere concerns and zeal to help the disabled?) is not good policy.
She knows damn well she didn't need the Coalition to get this through - but makes a big drama and pretended they're against it.
If you are this naive when it comes to (allegedly conniving and cunning women's wiles) - that you can't see the actual truth for the fake tears - then I pity you.
Perhaps you could also address an observation of mine - that my family member has her Carer's allowance cut off as of August, when her autistic son turns 16?
She a bushfire heroine - injured to the point she can no longer work in her own profession any more?
Will I write to Jenny Macklin and ask why - or would you like to do it for me?
Sadly. history books are littered with the outcomes of gullible men being manipulated by very clever anc calculating women.
and I'll bet you now - amongst those claiming "disability", there'll be a huge number of Asylum Seekers. Too "stressed' to work. Or women in hijab - can't work for fear of discrimination and ridicule - and so they'll claim "mental illness".
Our own men came back from wars - took off their uniforms - and went out and got jobs! NO "post traumatic stress" excused from them. Not to say they didn't have it - but they fought for our country - then came back and helped build it up again -!
Yes, Gillard/Mackin have had almost 6 years to plan carefully - not bring in this hotch potch clapped together in haste version - hugely open to rort an abuse - done just to save their own personal bacons.
She cried for herself. Not for the disabled, And not for any of us.
Being born female does not, necessarily, maketh an angel!
Having helped raise an austistic child - and attended their centres of care - and knowing many others in the same boat - with this or other conditions - I know full well the huge need for aid for the disabled. So dont' accuse me of not having sympathy!
This Gillard self-interested package is brought in entirely ad hoc and opportunistic - NOT well thought out - done to preserve her own career. To me, that's sick and ugly.
Australia has now woken up to Gillard. Oh, Happy Day!
