Actually the red herring will be FTTN.

All these cabinets will require power and battery backup and constant maintenance. Not to mention you will have a hybrid network which will cost more to maintain.

Wireless cannot provide the same speeds, efficiency, quality and security as a Fibre Optic connection.

Its basic physics and telecommunications. If you want a fast, efficient and secure connection you go Optic Fibre (i.e: light).

Optic fibre is not power hungry and future proofs the network for the next 50+ years.

To claim that FTTN or wireless is the best way forward shows how little the coalition understands technology and how ignorant they are to the majority of Australians.
