Shows exactly what I was talking about you missing the point. The analogy was not AGW versus Hitler as such but rather that the "scientific consensus" of the time was that this was rational/logical/scientifically necessary in a Darwinian sense and was beyond dispute(haven't we heard that again lately?). There would have been no doubt studies produced to show that was so, and any objectors could be seen as soft hearted wimps unwilling to make the hard decisions necessary for the sake of future generations and so on. To restate, not about nazis or their american antecedents but about the fallibility of consensus, scientific or otherwise.
