a$1,000 gold price would shut nst down?, page-7

At $1,000 AUD gold price I'm sure that either a) costs will drop dramatically to pre-these crazy prices and counterbalance or b) price will just hold. I mean think about it, if NST has to shut down at $1,000 even, i would think that all exploration, development, and a huge chunk of producers would also be unprofitable and close shop.

Simple supply and demand just won't see that happen. Hence my transition to at least producing companies like NST from explorers, took heavy 50%+ losses to switch but at least it's more likely that if everyone closes shop we'll still be standing.

Not confident overall on our resources sector though, golden days look over - the issue is where to find yield/good growth stocks with the rest of non-resources equities going to crazy new highs. Might just follow a friend's advice as i'm sure he's doing a hell of alot better for me and wait for d-day comes to 'go around and vacuum everything up' i.e. all the dirt priced equities when things come crashing down.
