From the reading Ive done on CHINA there is no way of accurately ascertaining how much Gold the China CB has but a conservative estimate puts it at least 5000ton by the end of this year. History says that to be the holder of a reserve currency then you need at least 5000ton. So they will probably have that already.
They only release their Gold reserve details every 5years or so.
CHINA is definitely positioning itself as a reserve currency holder, whereas the U.S. is trying to hold onto their reserve currency status.
