mike, but that's the proof that it isn't pi. If you use units of lb.in, then PI is 37. It's just a coincidence that it is 3.14 (088) when expressed in lb.ft.
How can you ignore the units? If we take a simple equation, say:
V = D/T, where V is the velocity, D is distance travelled and T is the time taken.
V = 20 mph, D is 200m - what is T?
