Yes there's been alot of talk about structural deficits left behind by Howard and Costello.
But if you subtract the $11 billion interest bill on the debt and the $4 billion dollars spent on boat people - none of which happened under the liberals - then this years deficit would have been $3 billion not $18 billion.
Labor have only got themselves to blame for not reaching a surplus this year.
