Fair points kgtom. Your philosophy towards ethnic differences certainly looks like it's helped you avoid troubles like Goodes'.
I should admit now I don't have any special insights into Goodes' situation. I'm just a typical guy late twenties who was raised in a typical Aussie environment.
But the whole situation just doesn't sit right with me. With the whole history of Goodes' forebears, it just doesn't seem right that a white person can, in the present, use language that invokes the kind of sentiment that existed back then.
I do apologise if I come across as insensitive in my previous post... I tend sometimes to just see a problem and state what I think the solution should be.
Anyway this whole "race" thing is doing my head in - time to take a break. Maybe, hopefully, with more intermingling among us, in 100 years time all Australians will be light brown in skin colour, then we won't have to worry about anything racial anymore LOL!
