    some aboriginal communities are "dry", where it is illegal to have alcohol... just a very quick look on the net

    frankly, these remote communities serve no purpose - and all government funding should be withdrawn - eg as in the town of wittenoom - indeed, all welfare payments should be stopped - but if the people want to maintain their connection to the land, then they are free to hunt kangaroos with spears etc - indeed, they could become a tourist attraction - and generate tourist dollars
