the benefit of grid power should not be underestimated in a competitive industry.
power can typically represent 40 to 50% of processing costs at mining projects. So to cut power costs from say 30c per kwhr for self generated diesel power to 5c per kwhr for grid power is a very large saving in process operating costs.
the offset is that Syrah will need the Moz govt to be delivering it when required, which may represent some sort of project commissioning risk...
