    Car exports rise in May
Published: 14 Jun 2013 at 12.29 Online news:
A total of 86,577 vehicles were exported in May, up 0.68% on May 2012, and an increase of 27.99% on April, Surapong Paisitpatanapong, spokesman for the Automotive Industry Club, said on Friday.

The export value for the month stood at 38.89 billion baht, down 3.75% on May 2012, said Mr Surapong.

Exports over the first five months of the year (Jan-May) totalled 438,184 units, up 21% on the same period last year. Export value was up 14.88% to stand at 196.14 billion baht.

Vehicle output in May stood at 231,070 units, up 11.09% on May 2012 and up 35.56% on April. Output over the first five months of the year amounted to 1,123,030 units, an increase of 31.73% on the same period last year.'

My comments: April is Thai new year so factory shutdown.

A 31% increase for the first five months would be sucking in additional resouces. When you also consider Thai and Indonesia last month exceeded GPD target and Japan revised this week to 4.1% for the first quarter (our second biggest customer) I cannot understand why there is so much doom and gloom.

Wonder if any of the western media will report some of this positive news or just keep treddling more chinese negative stories. Makes you wonder if many of these financial journalist are into the shorting game big time
