"micro-caps without adequate funding in a global financial crisis are bugs in search of a windshield." reminds me of the lice freezing in the man's moustache on the bike looking for some warmth inside an air-hostesses' panty.
"The news I've heard so far has encouraged me to think that they are at the very least holding their ground in that regard, and that further improvement is likely, although I admit to some...curiosity...as to the extent to which the latest coffer-enhancements were forced or voluntary."
I read the same news you heard (I guess) but in my case, I need more timely reports on the improvements/progress the Company was hoping to make. Holding the ground is not progress.
"I have to say though that I don't share your sense of urgency for their teeing up follow-on feed stocks of tailings. It would obviously be advantageous to extend the "mine" life, but even so I don't see why PGI couldn't leave that in abeyance for a year or two if they so wished."
Only refractory feedstocks are needed for the Albion plant to extend its life. Some posters opined that it would take at least 2 years to complete the search and negotiations etc. For all we know, depending on the availability of such feedstocks, it may even take a lot longer. Six years is a short time and time flies and before u know it the Albion plant has run out of food.
"I understand your waiting before making any boots 'n all commitments though. Each to his or her own."
I have been a firm supporter of PGI for a long time for good reasons and it has been kind to me for a while. Mind you I am still holding a sizable chunk but am "holding my ground" until the uncertainties are cleared up on production and feedstocks.
