Mac - I don't have an ear to the ground like you guys do - but I can pretty well say that the US has really turned a corner - I've been worked flat stick for the past 2 months, weekends etc with clients that have had construction plans gathering dust for the last 6 years that now want to go hard regardless of cost.
That all said - no idea what that means for Aus - personally I think China has been able to establish their own mines over the last decade in countries within Africa etc that have now started to come on line - hence they don't need to pay the exuberant $ that was being demanded by the Aussies/Canadians etc.
They're long term thinkers - where as Aus - they just look to the next election or how best to splash the cash rather than invest in long term projects/prosperity.
Just my 2 cents - but I think the golden goose has moved on - and Aus is now looking just like a goose.
