I am transitioning to retirement and in the last few weeks my share portfolio has taken a massive hit. I don't have anything but blue chip stocks and fluctuations in share markets have to be expected. If I had to liquidate all now i would be in a lot of trouble real soon.
Pollies, in my opinion should be subject to the same vagaries that we out here in the real world are. Maybe pay them more and make them responsible to grow their own assets. Giving them access to an unfunded magic pudding is grossly irresponsible
