Lynas Corporation (ASX:LYC, OTC:LYSDY) CEO Eric Noyrez said: “Since the commencement of operations
at the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) in November 2012, the measured emissions on site have
consistently been significantly lower than the limits specified in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
and Radiological Impact Assessment (RIA).
“Prior to the start-up of LAMP, there were many statements and claims about LAMP which caused anxiety
for the community. Now that facts are available, it is time to recognise the opportunities from this project and
focus on creating value for all of our stakeholders, including in particular the communities we are living in.
“There is no value in continuing disputes with members of our local community and therefore Lynas intends
to instruct its solicitors to discontinue its defamation claim against the Save Malaysia Stop Lynas group
(“SMSL”).
“The actual emission monitoring results, which are displayed at our site, are also available from the websites
of the Malaysian Department of Environment (DoE) and the Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB). They
prove to everyone that our products and processes are safe for people and safe for the environment.
