A Bicester hair salon will be getting a green makeover thanks to a government programme.
Anne Veck already has an eco-salon in Oxford with low-energy LED lighting, Blue Gen ceramic fuel cell technology which generates energy-efficient electricity from the mains gas supply and a water supply heat exchange.
Anne Veck’s Bicester salon has now been granted an eco-upgrade worth £4,000, which consists of renewing existing lighting with low energy LED lighting.
The work will be carried out by a Green Deal approved installer.
Business owner Anne Veck said: “I am delighted to be getting such support for my eco friendly business investment. I am hoping to refurbish Anne Veck Bicester Salon, turning it green just like the Oxford branch one day and at this rate it seems very possible.”
The Green Deal is a government scheme which allows homes and businesses to make energy-saving improvements without having to pay all the costs up front.
Improvements can include insulation, heating, draught-proofing, double glazing and renewable energy technologies.
