I also have the same experience at my WW Pqeues. I turned around and said go to Coles , there is no waiting. Got tap on shoulder by manager and told off as I left my goods in trolley and walked off. So did some others.
GST was suppose to take away all other taxes but that did not happen We were robbed. It does not matter what government is in charge. The difference is how they spend it.
