The ACCC’s first report on Telstra’s Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) compliance with its structural separation undertaking has highlighted a number of breaches.
The competition watchdog says the report outlines breaches of the equivalence and transparency measures contained in Telstra’s structural separation between March 6, 2012 and June 30, 2012.
ACCC Chairman Rod Sims says while it is concerning the breaches happened, the fact that these matters are now coming to light and are being addressed shows that the SSU is working.
The measures are designed to safeguard competition until the National Broadband Network fibre network is built and Telstra has migrated its fixed-line customers onto it.
The ACCC noted Telstra reported each of the potential breaches of the SSU under its mandatory compliance obligations.
Telstra generated a net profit of $1.6 billion in the first half of the current financial year.
