His form before he was made captain was atrocious. When he got the job he was under enormous pressure. He was booed onto the ground at the SCG when he came out to bat. He got the most runs for Australia in the last Ashes series over there so statistically his record in England is fine. I backed him for the high bat last series over there so I remember. I also remember how those runs were scored. Nearly every one of them went off the edge of the bat just either side of gully at a catchable height. it was the luckiest win I've ever had.
