I have been a union delegate in a business that had over a thousand staff, I have also worked as a stockbroker amongst other jobs.
Anyway I think I have some experience in the corporate side of things and the union side and can tell you there was a lot more honesty and decency, in fact not even comparable to what I saw and have dealt with in the corporate worlds.
If you think unions are big bad thugs I think you read too much right wing garbage, I have been to union conventions interstate and had dealings with state union officials and on a whole you couldnt ask for a better more decent and caring bunch of guys. Sure some have tatoos and may not be that refined but as people unions seem to breed a much more decent person than corporate Asutralia.
Corporate Australia is about looking after yourself and maybe a small handful of your mates, there is little long term thought and definately a lack of morals and decency from my experiences.
I think politics sucks and a large part of the reason is because of the electorate who vote predominately based on self interests and not for the long term benefits of the country and its people as a whole. Ie people vote with their backpocket and I dont see this changing any time soon unfortunately.
Ask yourself do you vote based on your own backpocket>?
