Two companies, Solex and Vena have adjoining tenements to Range in Peru. There SPs have risen many many mutiples in recent months due to recent results.

Just a refresher and for anyone new to Range not fully aware of their uranium tenements in Peru:

The uranium mineralization is disseminated over this area with an average background value of 12 ppm uranium and 19 ppm thorium. Remobilization of the uranium as secondary ore has accumulated in different ignimbrite horizons following sub-vertical and horizontal fractures and the more permeable wall-rock. Structural mapping of outcrops and trenches suggest that the relative close-spaced fractures and the uranium permeated wall-rock could result in the delineation of a resource amenable to open pit mining. Fractures identified by Solex vary in thickness from a few millimeters up to 15 centimeters of uranium phosphates. X-Ray diffraction analysis was performed on 19 rock samples with mineralized fractures filled with Metaautunite and Weeksite. Of the 19 grab samples taken in several locations at Macusani, 15 samples returned values between 1.5% and 28% uranium.

Trench sample results were outstanding:

Calvario II 1.01% to >15% uranium (average 4.92%)
Sayana 0.09% to 3.3% uranium (average 2.09%)
Tuturumani 1.23% to 11.8% uranium (average 3.37%)


Now Peter Grandich is pretty excited about these results as he should be they are stupendous. See the attached figure and see how close Calvario and Tuturumani is to Chapi Alto and have a look at the attached table of the analysis of the samples Range took. Notice the material that returns the highest readings of U; autunite and crystal-lithic tuff with numerous from 1% to 5% U

Now to Range:

4) The Macusani district is the most studied area in southern Peru, IPEN historical reports from Sept. 1983 refer to the areas of Chapi, Corani, Tantamaco, Huiquiza, Calvario, Concha Rumio, Huachanne, Chilcuno, Chacaconiza and the surrounding area to the town of Macusani potentially having in the order of 200,000 tons of Uranium carrying ore with average grades from 0.2% to 12% of U3O8 (Bulletin 71 - Peruvian Geological Society - Sept 1983).

6) The studies performed by IPEN showed that:

1. The Uranium ores are found principally at higher levels of the volcanic sequence;

2. The enclosing rocks are Plio-Quaternary rhyolitic and rhyodacitic ignimbrites formed by quartz, sanidine, oligoclase, biotite, and occasionally muscovite and andalusite, in a particular devitrified vitreous matrix containing numerous lutite clasts;

3. Biotite, smoky quartz and andalusite are very abundant in the mineralized levels;

4. The metallic ores consists almost exclusively of massive pitchblende more or less transformed into gummites, phosphates and silicates of uranium, and very sparse Fe sulphides;

5. The pitchblende fills fractures between a few centimeters and several meters long and between 1 and 100 mm wide. Some of these fractures are sub-vertical and are due to the contraction which gave rise to the columnar disjunction. Others are subhorizontal and parallel to a system of conjugate ductile shear formations produced by compaction and settling of the pyroclastic materials containing the mineralization.

7) Recent exploration of the Macusani area by third parties have found significant outcrops of the uranium mineral autunite in small fractures in many areas. Autunite contains 51% uranium by weight and converts into 60% -65% U3O8.
