That's a fair possibility, and - I'll admit - one I hadn't thought of. I would have thought, though, that if that were the case, Peak would have put out an announcement stating that "Finalisation of the funding agreement is expected to occur shortly after all the pilot mineral processing tests have been completed" - it's not like this would compromise the talks if everybody knows that's what is going on.

I hate this part: trying to second-guess what's going on, waiting (im)patiently for things to happen, not knowing when they're going to happen. Still, that's part and parcel of the junior end of the mining game, I guess. And, when you get right down to it, this announcement is a significant positive for the project, no matter what happens with the funding.
