Based on my readings, Merlinliegh's Condon # 1 and Crostella are guessed at having 530 and 470 billion cubic feet of conventional gas in place respectively, that's 1 trillion cubic feet of gas in place in total, approximately a year's supply for all of Australia.
Please check my maths but I reckon with that much gas in place and with a very conservative recovery rate of, say 50% (typical fields get 70-80% recovery) given the Western Australia gas price of, say $8 per gigajoule, future value (undiscounted) could be...(@947 cubic feet per gigajoule)
500 billon cubic feet/947 cubic feet x $8 = AUD$ 4.2 billion
Thoughts...?
So makes lots of sense for NSE trying to get some cash flow from the conventional gas asap...
