According to APIA’s Chief Executive, Ms Cheryl Cartwright,
“Rather than (governments) trying to pick winners – currently the renewable energy industry – this policy would let all technologies, including gas, compete for funding on the basis of economic reduction of emissions.
Governments might also HAVE no choice but to assist in funding gas exploration, to try to mitigate the ensuing "soaring gas prices" reported in the previous post.
But, what are they doing, making it harder and consequently, much more expensive, by introducing harsh regulations and even preventing further exploration!!!
The shale gas explorers could be the massive winners, as those "soaring gas prices" and "near tripling of demand" will make shale gas much more economically viable.
