I did, similar story to you however one day I had enough of missing out and booked a world trip to see U2 play in London and Chicago. In between we bunny hopped to Spain and Morocco. I still get a little nervous but it's not gonna stop me now. In fact I flew two weeks ago with a short trip to the Barossa. More comfortable on bigger planes for some reason! You will be fine Dtrad. Planes are built to be in the air, they can fly on one engine and will glide for a long time with no engines. There would need to be a large series events to have any problems these days as any issues are essentially self corrected by auto pilot. A pilot mate also told me the wings can basically flex like you are star jumping before any issues. Maybe not that much but you get my point.
Enjoy your trip!
