As Tasmania endures its coldest day since records began, people took to social media to share their experiences with the icy conditions.
One resident in central Tasmania described the conditions to feel like an industrial freezer.
Liawenee, in the state's central highlands, recorded Australia's lowest overnight temperature at minus 12.1 degrees Celsius.
BB does this extreme weather record fit your AGW criteria? There is no jet stream I know of involved and Tassie is slightly antipodean to your Arctic jetstream but no doubt you'll find a way to twist it to suit your valuable work here.
