Argh! Not Miss, Ms, Mrs, Madam, Fraulein, Frau, Taitai, XiaoChe, Cik, Makcik, Senorita, Senora, Lady, Baroness, Duchess, Princess, nor Mistress! Just gga will suffice. :-|

Yup, the anti-carcinogenic properties of, especially turmeric (curcumin).

Double yup on the prep of Indian food - I just go to eateries. I reckon, on a money-for-value pound for pound basis (in terms of manual labour), Indian/Thai outvalues Bill Granger's Scrambled Eggs many-fold.

Back on-topic: AiiYYeEEeee!!! Just watching 'Good Morning America' now and a short news snippet indicates that 61% of dish-washers have fungi levels that can cause harm to humans. Of course, don't know how rigorous the study was (hygiene of subjects, number of sample pool etc).

    - Also, I've thought of another modern convenience I no likey. I dunno if I'm getting a bad batch, buying too-cheap stuff or something else. When silicone bakeware first came on the scene, I was taken in by the 'As Seen on TV' ads - wha?!... NO scrubbing, no awkward maneouvring to cut out slices etc. Yay! I can finally attempt cookies and cakes and lasagnes and blah blah blah.

Hang on....what the fudge is this repugnant plasticky smell that imparts itself onto ANY food that it touches?!?! Bake stuff, reeking stench. Poach an egg, reeking stench. Even just putting in H20 for a FEW seconds to use the egg poacher as an eye-bath, REEKING STENCH. (Btw, I got most of my silicone from Victoria's Basement in Sydney but stuff from DAvid Jones, Target, Kmart and even specialty kitchen stores ALL have the same smell).

So yeah..., (current-technology) silicone cookware, fudge you!
